Shabana Azmi’s Mother Shaukat Kaifi Actor-Writer Passes Away at 93, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha Offer Condolences: Amitab Bachchan and Rekha who is known as Bollywood film’s superstars of a previous time has been seen while offering Condolences on the Shabana Azmi’s mother Shaukat Kaifi who has passed away in the age of 93. It is considered that Shabana Azmi’s mother passed away here on Friday evening due to having some age-related illness. Kaifi’s son-in-law, veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar, confirmed the news of the death of the theatre and film actor. He said “She was 93 and was having one problem after another. She was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. For certain days she was in the ICU and then she was out of ICU. It was all age-related,”.

It is being observed that they brought her home because Shaukat Kaifi wanted to stay in her room for a while after staying some time she passed away. And the last rites was remained to be completed today. Many Bollywood celebrities paid their last respects to Ms. Kaifi at her family residence. Pics from the day were shared by paparazzi Viral Bhayani. Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Manish Malhotra, Tabu, Shabana, Boney Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Satish Kaushik, and others arrived at the venue.

How the Bollywood actors looked unite at the sorrow of Shaukat Kafi’s death. Theatre personality Danish Husain, who recently acted in the play “Kaifi Aur Main”, said it helped him get a “peek into her sensitive soul” and that he was “extremely heartbroken” to hear about her demise.

Kaifi’s husband was celebrated by the Urdu poet and film lyricist. They were seen together while leading lights of the Indian people’s theatre association and the Progressive Writers Association (IWA), which were the cultural platforms of the Communist Party of India. Actor Dia Mirza and theatre personality Danish Husain also condoled the demise of Shaukat Kaifi, saying her contribution to art will always be remembered.

Akhtar said, that Kaifi was the part of a huge progressive group in post-Independence India, and with her death, the chapter is now closed.
