From India, Mirzapur is the fifth prime original series and originates from the makers of Prime series Inside Edge, which was selected for an International Emmy for Best Drama Series.
It is unclear whether Mirzapur season 2 will hit Amazon Prime or not and there is no other any official statements made by the makers as well as the cast members regarding its next season.

Mirzapuris debuted on Amazon Prime, on the same day Narcos: Mexico, series hit on Netflix, when asked about director Karan Anshuman concern on this topic he said he isn’t concerned about the drug crime content clash.

Karan Anshuman in his recent interview said “I don’t think the clash matters because let’s be honest, this is our world, it is our story,” he also said “By our I mean an Indian thing, and it is very rooted in what our reality is. Yes, we have the resources to make it look great and on a technical level be right up there. With Excel Media & Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video, I can tell you we have done that. We have used the same equipment and our technicians are as good as Hollywood has.”
He is more assured that Mirzapur’s characters will stand on their own, “That aside, your story and your characters are not trying and pretending to be someone else,” he also included by saying “Especially in the case of Mirzapur, there were many things that the American team members did not understand because they did not have the cultural context. However, the same guys when they saw the show, they loved every moment of it. They were gushing in their praise of how it had turned out. These were the same guys who did not get it on paper because once you pull down the world and start connecting on an emotional level with the characters, and then it doesn’t matter.”
The story revolves around Akhandanand Tripathi who is as mafia don of Mirzapur. His son, Munna, is a power-hungry successor who can go for any limit in order to get his father’s legacy. An awful incident at a wedding procession explodes a chain of events trapping the lives of two families in the lawless city of Mirzapur.
